Buenos Días from sunny Cartagena, Colombia! I'm here on a year-long program with WorldTeach and Colombia's Ministry of Education as a volunteer English teacher to 8th-11th graders in a local public school. On the weekend you can find me dancing salsa and champeta, swimming at the beach, or drinking coffee in the mall with my friends.
I study Spanish everyday and practice with my host family, neighbors, and students. As a life-long learner, being able to study and apply a new skill daily has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Read more about my life, work and travels in Colombia on my website.
After this year in Cartagena, I plan to stay in Colombia to perfect my Spanish and soak up more of the incredible culture here. Idealy, I'd like to get into creative journalism work, either in writing or podcasting.
