Jackie Tran

Who Am I?

My name's Jackie Tran. Yes, it sounds like Jackie Chan, but I am no international superstar or martial artist. I am just an asian american who grew up in a multicultural city, Malden MA. I am currently studying Finance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Little bit about me

My life has centered around my friends and my parents. I am an only child so I do not have the experience of having siblings and most of my family resides in California, China or Vietnam. I grew up in a nice little neighborhood and made a solid group of friends and still are great friends to this day. My parents had given me the chance as young age to try many different activities such as ice hockey, swimming, soccer, baseball, karate, piano, tennis, art, singing, ect. I ended up playing 11 years of ice hockey for my city. I fell in love with tennis freshman year of highschool and still play every summer. I do not play hockey anymore, but I iceskate at frog pond in Boston annually.

What I love to do

My passion would be traveling to new places all around the world and creating memories with friends and family. I know that vacation and travel is limited and can only happen a few times a year, but I am known for traveling to different places each year. My friends would literally ask me where I went this summer and if I went on yet another cruise, because I have gone on quite a few. It is also quite interesting because I travel with a set of family friends who are around the same age. The parents usually hang out together and the children hangout together. When I tell my friends this they are usually surprised.

I have been to about half the states in the united states (airports do not count). I have been to the west carribean, east carribean which include islands like the grand turk, jamaica, bahamas, st.thomas. For places other than Islands out side the united states, I went to Canada, Cancun, Thailand and China. I have yet to travel to Europe, Australia or Japan. Eventually I want to have a super collage video and scrapbook of all the places I have been to with my family friends and show the world where we have gone. This is just the beginnning.

- I am mixed handed (e.g write with my left, throw with my right)

- Favorite fruit is between the strawberry and mango

- I can throw a card and slice a banan
