Jack J Matthews

I am a postgraduate student at Oxford University studying for a DPhil in Earth Sciences. My work focuses on the Ediacaran rocks of Newfoundland and the United Kingdom, examining theur palaeontology, sedimentology, and stratigraphy to better understand the origins of animals.

I love politics. For nearly all my time as a student I have been involved in student politics, from my Common Room in college, to part-time and Vice President positions at he Oxford University Student Union. I have created national campaigns to improve the democracy of the National Union of Students (TheyWorkForStudents) as well as support a number of student clubs and societies.

I am a member of and campaigner for the Conservative Party, which I have been involved with on many levels, from Constituency Officer, to National Conservative Future Executive member, and President of Oxford University Conservative Association.
