Jack J Wu MD was born and raised in Taiwan. Later on, his family and he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Wu came down to the U.S. for college and has been here since then. He graduated with honors from Cornell University before embarking on his medical school studies at Duke University. He then finished his adult psychiatry training at UCLA where he acted as the chief resident physician for the adult inpatient units at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. He joined UCLA faculty shortly after that and was the Medical Director for the UCLA Adult Eating Disorder Program. Jack Wu enjoys watching good movies and intriguing T.V. series. His favorite movie of all time is Forrest Gump.

Jack J Wu MD is a big fan of Duke Blue Devil’s men’s basketball team because he went to Duke for medical school. Jack’s favorite former Duke players are Jay Williams and JJ Redick. He jokes that “Duke basketball is my religion and Coach K is my spiritual leader.” Anything less than a national title is always a disappointment for Duke basketball fans at the end of March Madness. Whenever college basketball season is on, you will find Jack glued to the TV.

In addition to English, Dr. Wu is fluent in Chinese Mandarin.
