Jack Kavanaugh

A highly regarded healthcare practitioner with experience in dentistry and ophthalmology, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh currently leverages his expertise to ensure the continued success of several Southern California biotechnology companies. Using his background in medicine and business to provide these burgeoning enterprises with advice and direction, Dr. Kavanaugh plays an integral role in leading-edge cancer and cataract research. Aside from his advisory activities in the medical sector, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh dedicates much of his time and energy toward charity work in Los Angeles.

Educated in general and reconstructive dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Dr. Jack Kavanaugh maintained an independent dental practice in Beverly Hills for 10 years while concurrently performing pro bono full-mouth reconstructions for patients in need in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Kavanaugh subsequently founded Amerident, a chain of 12 offices in Nevada and California that won more than 30 awards for community service, including legislative recognition from the Nevada state government. Accepting uninsured patients and those with financial difficulties on behalf of Project Head Start and many other charitable organizations, Amerident grew into a successful, community-conscious business that Dr. Kavanaugh sold to a public company in 1999.

While recovering from an accident that severely injured his neck, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh decided to shift his focus from dentistry to medicine. He enrolled at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine to study ophthalmology. Following the conferral of his degree, Dr. Kavanaugh undertook a general internship at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena and a residency in ophthalmology at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute. Board certified and distinguished as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Kavanaugh spent a productive tenure teaching students and residents as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute.

A devoted father and husband, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh strives to benefit the community through various civic endeavors. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Leslie.
