Jack Roberts

I help awesome technology companies hire people. I started in recruitment in 2012 at a small Microsoft agency and it was there that I discovered my passion for helping connect people to their next big play, I already had an interest in technology and gaming in particular so after spending 2 years building relationships with a bunch of smart engineers I wanted to take the next step and move internal to be even closer to the action.

I joined a Software house called OpenBet (now Scientific Games) as a Technical Recruiter. My time was split between Sydney and London, helping transition from an agency model to a direct sourcing approach. My main task was to hire the engineers that built the Sportsbook product used by leading betting companies such as Skybet, Betfair and Paddy Power - this was a complex system processing over 70,000 bets per minute so I was focused on bringing in problem solvers with mathematical backgrounds and a focus on complex data structures and algorithms. After a 6 month secondment in Sydney I decided to continue travelling before returning to London in late 2016.

On my return to London I joined Trainline as the Senior Recruiter in a small team focused on hiring the best engineers out there to build and improve our world class journey search platform to make travel better for millions of people. I've built new teams from the ground up, added to existing teams and helped with organisation development and structure.

Working at Trainline provides some unique challenges as we grow throughout Europe and I enjoy every minute of it.
