With over 50 years of travel and fine dining experience, Jack has become the "second most interesting man in the world". Jack has traveled throughout Texas and Mexico since 1976 with an eye toward cuisine and culture. His journeys have allowed him to contribute stories and photos to Mexico Travel & Life Magazine (of which he was creator and publisher) Change Magazine, The Antique Book, Museum & Arts Magazine (creator/publisher), Elan and numerous other publications. A geneaologist and lover of Texas history, he was Editor-in-Chief of Confederate Veteran.

As a board member of the Greater Houston Restaurant Association (2003-06), he served as Membership Chairman, Public Relations Chairman and served on the Gala and Golf Tournament Committees. There he initiated a cookbook called Culinary Houston. First publisher of Philanthropy in Texas Magazine (now called Philanthropy World), Jack has spent many hours volunteering for nonprofits as a board or committee member.

For several years, he traveled Mexico and authored Jack Tyler's Mexico blog. In 2008, he won the Gran Fiesta Amigos de Mazatlan's Golden Deer Award from The Mazatlan Hotel Association for "capturing the beauty and magic of Mazatlan", in the State of Sinaloa, and continues to win the hearts of all for whom he cooks.

Join him as he continues to share his thoughts and delicious recipes from around the Great Southwest. He loves to learn about your dining experiences and read your comments! Tweet, text, or email him your recipes and comments!
