Jack Zamary began serving Monroe Public Schools in Monroe, Connecticut, as an educational consultant in 2020. He had previously spent more than 3 years with the district as assistant superintendent of schools and superintendent of schools, preceded by 5 years as director of IT and operations. His achievements with Monroe Public Schools range from a number of effective student and teacher engagement initiatives led the development of a unique walkthrough model in the Monroe Schools, where teachers are engaged in brief, authentic observations of each other’s lessons, a model called “Lesson Study” (loosely based on the Japanese model by the same name). In a recent NEASC Collaborative Conference, the Monroe Schools received a commendation for their use of lesson study. Prior to joining the Monroe school system, Jack Zamary was a principal for nine years and the director of fine arts for six years in Pomperaug Regional School District 15.

Dr. Zamary studied music education at the University of Connecticut and educational leadership at Southern Connecticut State University, completing a doctor of educational leadership program at the latter. He also maintains various professional certifications, including as a Connecticut School Business Officer and Connecticut Superintendent of Schools.
