Jaclyn Karboski

Personally

My name is Jaclyn but I also go by Jackie. I’m from Camden, NY which is about 50 minutes north-east of Syracuse, so I guess I’m kind of a native to this area and the cold! I have an older brother Adam who lives in Seattle, Washington and is an officer in the Army. While in school at Syracuse I live with my Aunt and Uncle in Manlius which saves about 2 hours of travel time each day. When I’m not in the downstairs computer lab, I enjoy running, skiing, fly-fishing and most other out-door activities. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to spend the last five summers living and working on Block Island which is about 13 miles off the coast of Rhode Island.

Professionally

I’m currently in my last semester of grad school in the IM program. I graduated undergrad from St. Lawrence University with a B.S. in Mathematics and continued immediately on to Syracuse for my graduate work. Therefore I don’t have too much work experience. My specialization is in Data Management and I hope to pursue that direction come this summer/fall. I’m in the job hunting process now. For my long term career plans, I’d like to end up in D.C. area and work either in consulting or for the federal government specifically in the area of homeland security and intelligence.
