Jaclyn Lahey

Hello all!

My name is Jaclyn and I am so excited to be collaborating and learning from you all. I am a First Generation Canadian and Bilingual in Portuguese. I really hope to keep speaking Portuguese consistently in my life. I am currently residing in Mississauga! I got married this summer and travelled to Europe for 3 ½ weeks! (Portugal-Azores, Italy-Venice and Slovenia) This past school year I taught ½ Split Class who were so much fun.

I have always loved working, interacting and teaching children. I consider myself a “kid at heart” with a love for learning. I completed my undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Studies at Brock University and continued my teacher education at York University. I have trained in ABA therapy for children who have ASD/DD and it was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed.

In this course I hope to develop a positive and supportive learning environment with you all. My goal when teaching ELLS is to demonstrate a love for language and foster positive growth.
