For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by sport and its relationship with business. I decided to come to the University of Massachusetts to pursue my interests in these fields in hopes of obtaining a dual degree in Communications and Sport Management. The Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management is a world-renowned program that works to prepare its students to thrive in sports business settings. I believe that my passion for sports, particularly sport marketing and advertising will allow me to follow a career path that I can wholesomely enjoy.

I think that it is important that people choose careers that they are passionate about, and that for me would be sports. I am an avid Boston sports fan and have been since I was a little kid. Sports have played a significant role in my life from simple entertainment to meeting my first bestfriend on my youth football team. My life is filled with sports, so I think that it is only fitting that my career should eventually be as well.

There are various areas of the sports business industry that I would be interested in exploring once I graduate from school, but the one I think that I am most suited for is a position in sports marketing. Over the past several years I have had multiple positions that have given me crucial marketing experience in the sports industry. This past summer I worked with the New England Patriots as an Marketing Operations Intern; so I know what it is like to work for a distinguished professional sports organization. I operated within a small group of other interns to implement various marketing operations tasks including the execution of game day promotions, hospitality, on-site entertainment and more. Besides working for a professional sports organization, I have a strong interest in working in the marketing department for a large sports retail company such as Nike, Reebok, etc. I am confident that my strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills and wide range of experience with marketing will allow me to market myself to competitive companies once I graduate from one of the top business schools in the country.
