Jacob Sherman

Jacob Holsinger Sherman is Assistant Professor in Philosophy and Religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies, a private graduate institute located in San Francisco. He received his PhD in Philosophical Theology from the University of Cambridge and taught previously as a Visiting Lecturer in Philosophy of Religion at King’s College London. His writings have appeared in journals such as Religious Studies, Modern Theology, and The Heythrop Journal. He is the co-editor, with Jorge Ferrer, of The Participatory Turn" Spirituality, Mysticism, Religious Studies (SUNY Press), and the author of Partakers of the Divine: Contemplation and the Practice of Philosophy, forthcoming from Fortress Press.

Raised in Colorado, Jacob lives today in San Francisco with his wife, Karin, and his daugher Leila.
