Jacob A. Baker is a recent graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. He has graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Media Management with a focus on advertising, marketing, sales, social media, and public relations. Last summer, he had the opportunity of being the media buying intern at Dixon-Schwabl in Victor, NY. He spent summer developing flow charts and researching region demographics for the media buying team at the agency. Currently, he is the marketing intern at Toshiba Business Solutions in Rochester, NY. At Toshiba Business Solutions, Baker has experience with In-Design software and Photoshop in which he has created banners, letterheads, and newsletter templates for the marketing department. He is also editor for their employee magazine called “Connections” which is monthly newsletter mentioning employees throughout the newsletter.
Baker has many good experiences in his internships and his course work at St. John Fisher College he has worked along with real clients through service learning at the college. Baker and his colleagues created a marketing campaign for the City of Rochester, Bureau of Communications. In 2014, Baker and his colleagues created a Public Relations campaign for the East End neighborhood of Rochester, NY. Baker and colleagues created ways to increase awareness about employment and living opportunities within this neighborhood. This fall, he worked alongside with the city of Rochester’s Clean Sweep organization which was a social media campaign where the goal was to increase participation but using social media strategically to carry out this plan. He is involved within in his community where he devotes his time volunteering for his church. He is originally from Cleveland, Ohio but now resides in Rochester, NY. Baker is interested in sports and loves to cook.
