For over a decade, playing basketball has been a big part of my life. It was a way to relieve stress, stay healthy, and spend time with others while also having fun. But more than just being a hobby, it taught me important lessons that I have applied to my everyday life.

One of the most important lessons that I learned from playing basketball is overcoming adversity. As someone who is short in a height-dominated sport, I had to find different ways to make an impact. Whether that was using crafty moves to get by a defender or finding crevices to make passes within the defense. It usually wasn't straightforward, and it took hard work and practice to keep up with taller players.

But I realize that these same principles also apply to my career and my daily life. I'm usually not the tallest, smartest, or most skilled in my area, but there are different strengths I can use to my advantages. I can overcome disadvantages through hard work, creativity, and discipline. To me, basketball wasn't just a hobby, it taught me valuable lessons that I could apply in my carrer and life.
