Jacob Lyons

In a short statement, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am very easy going, and attempt to see the good in all things, whether they be positive or negative. I am team player and will always do my part to make sure the job gets done in a timely, efficient manner, with the best possible resources given. I am an aviation administration major, trying to break into a market that is very small, and everybody knows everybody. This can be seen as an opportunity as well as a threat, in that you must know somebody and what they think of you could affect job opportunities in the near future. As stated earlier, I am a very goal oriented person. I like to have things set out, similar to a road map, so that I can follow it and make sure they get done. As such, I am working on getting better at dealing spontaneous problems as they arise. In working for a major airline, I have learned a lot about this issue I have and am in the process of getting better at it through my job. The benefits of having me as an employer, I would say, revolve around the ability to make people feel better when they are angry, upset, etc... In this, my ability to key into the emotional issues that face my co-workers, classmates, friends and family, allows me to use my interpersonal skills as a communicator, in eventually finding a resolution to the feeling or problem. With these skills that I possess, an employer can look to me in times when customers aren't very happy, when employees are having difficulties and when the going gets tough overall. As stated earlier, my main focus is on my team, wherever that team may exist now, and in the future. The successful operation of a company, or organization depends solely on the team it possess' and I feel that I am a key part of that team in keeping them happy, and making sure they have what they need to succeed.
