Ann Arbor, Michigan
Born in San Francisco, CA, I moved with my family to Nashville, TN in 1999. I graduated highschool unsure if I wanted to study medicine or engineering. After many experiences working and researching at the Vanderbilt Medical Center, I decided to pursue a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan.
I have contributed to many research projects at both the University of Michigan and Vanderbilt University. I have done work in engineering, medicine, biomedical science, biomechanics, and informatics. I am currently in the Research Scholars program at Michigan working on a project to design and test a cochlear implant.
This past year I have become increasingly interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. My experience in research and engineering have contributed to by ability to take ideas and turn them into prototypes. I recently co-founded Rendego, a social media startup at Michigan. Since we started with just an idea, we have made tremendous progress. After winning an investment competition from StartGarden, we were accepted in to a local incubator, TechArb. We are now in our second iteration of the website, planning to launch in late February 2013.
