Jacob Thiede (b. 1992) is a composer and saxophonist from Murray, Kentucky, where the smell of tobacco barns and honeysuckle fill the air. He received his Bachelors of Music Education at Murray State University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Music in Composition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). His music captures a great mix of contemporary and avant-garde styles with folk and improvisational roots. Jacob aspires to continue writing music for all mediums including film, video games, the stage, as well as the chamber hall. He has studied with Mike D'Ambrosio and Brian Ciach at Murray State and with Mark Engebretson and Steven Bryant at UNCG.
