social worker, supervisor, and Consultant in Masterton, New Zealand
I'm a self-employed registered social worker, professional supervisor and trainer living in the beautiful Wairarapa, New Zealand, where I also grew up.
Following time overseas engaged in cross-cultural work, I've spent the past 12 years working in care & protection social work and foster care. For much of this time, I led and supervised a team of care and protection social workers & foster parents (Open Home Foundation) while growing a multi-faceted practise base that has included Signs of Safety, Partnering for Safety, Strengths-based practice, Appreciative Inquiry, Solution-focused practice and Te Aho Takitoru. I've recently become certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (https://www.neurosequential.com/nmt). I'm excited to be integrating the core principles of neurodevelopment and traumatology into my work.
I'm passionate about seeing people grow in their personal and professional lives and am convinced we all need to make this a priority to thrive in this complex world around us. My consultancy allows me to equip, empower and inspire people so they’ve got all the skills and know-how they need to live and work well with each other in our Aotearoa bicultural context. My services include professional supervision for the helping professions, EAP, leadership mentoring and neurodevelopmental trauma consulting.
I love innovation and creativity, including in my down-time when you'll find me pottering about in my garden (permaculture), involved with various sports or busy with DIY projects. I'm also on the board of Wairarapa Community Networks. You can reach me by clicking on the link above or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
