Jacob Ziegler

Hi, I’m Jacob. I’m a Creative Industries student at Ryerson University, living in Toronto. I am a music lover, baseball fanatic, and love a good grilled cheese sandwich. I am passionate about social media advertising and marketing, and gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in my program.

Creative Industries is a unique and interdisciplinary four year program where students specialize in different areas within the Faculty of Communication and Design, paired with a business specialization. I am focusing in Media Business and the Music Industry, two fields that greatly interest me in their levels of innovation and evolution within the past decade. I am excited to see where these fields will go in the years to come, and the growing popularity of collaboration between brands and creatives in the digital age.

I am a passionate and avid user of social media, and am interested in the creative ways that brands build loyalty by continuing to differentiate themselves and using it non-traditionally. I have successfully obtained my HootSuite Certification, demonstrating my expertise and understanding of managing social media accounts and gaining engagement. I am also proficient in Adobe Photoshop, and love to bring ideas from conception to reality.

In my classes I examine brand's and artists past marketing decisions, along with the challenges and opportunities presented in today's creative industries. I am excited about the future of these industries in the digital age, and the new ways in which they can rise above the competition. I have lots of experience working in group settings where I demonstrate my leadership and teamwork skills.

I am driven, detail oriented, and creative, and hope to bring this same knowledge and passion that I bring to class every day to help brands, artists, and content creators alike with new strategies to succeed and stand out. We live in a fascinating, yet frightening world of social media information overload, and would be thrilled to help a company or personality rise above the rest, in pursuing a career in digital marketing.
