JACOB OLONDE

Consultant in Nairobi County, Kenya

Jacob is an experienced environmentalist. He specializes in: Climate Change Consulting, Environmental Governance; Environmental Policy Analysis, Green Economy, Sustainability Research, Stakeholder Liaison, Event Coordination and People Management.

Over the past 7 years, he has played an integral part in a number of county, national, regional and international environment decisions making. He is currently a researcher at the University of Nairobi.

Prior to this, he worked for the Council of Governors as a Technical Environment, Water and Natural Resources Officer; National Forest Programme Secretariat as a Consultant, WWF as a project Assistant and Mother Earth Network as a Volunteer National Coordinator.

Jacob has been the Secretary of the Water Thematic Group of the Kenya Climate Change Working Group; Vice President, EBAFOSA-Kenya and a board member of the Kenya Forestry Working Group.

Back in primary school, Jacob was a member of Wildlife Club. In Secondary he coordinated the Wildlife Club and the Red Cross Society.

In university, he was Class Representative; Student Mentor and Peer Counselor with Kenyatta University Counselling and Mentorship Programme . He became Chairman of Kenyatta University Environmental Club; Secretary General, Migori County University and College Students Association.

Jacob is an environmental graduate from Kenyatta University. NEMA Registered EIA Associate Expert. He is currently pursuing MA in Environmental Law at the University of Nairobi. On the sideline, he is serving as the Drector, Environmental Capacity and Technical Services (ECAS). This is platform that offer environment and climate change expertise.
