Jahnavee Kakkad
Mother, Dancer, and Consultant in Mumbai, India
Founder of "The Emerald Butterfly" Study skills, A Story-teller and Mind Mapping Instructor.
I wore various hats of a mother, an entrepreneur, a dancer and finally entering the education field with a clear view to contribute in enhancing the emotional intelligence in our children through Story-telling (recorded in my own voice) to give them an edge in their lives. How children approach learning as well as living life in terms of Thinking, working with their emotions, Behavior and Interpersonal relationships is of particular interest to me. With my stories, I used to send worksheets with activities to be done by parents & children to enhance above qualities. I, with my team had provided study material (Math, Science & Grammar mainly) to children all across the Globe from elite schools to Balwaadis of India for 7 years. This was all free of cost. It helped Balwaadi kids to learn the English language and thus connect with the world. I learned Mind-mapping from Tony Buzan, the author himself, and then conducted classes to train children through the technique. Many volunteers, including Doctors, Teachers, Lawyers, Grand-Parents chipped in to support this mission to help 1000's of children especially during covid times. To add the philosophical aspect to my knowledge and life practice, I did my Graduation in Vedanta Foundation and Teacher's Training Course from Yoga Institute, Mumbai. Extensive Reading and working with Parents, Teachers and Students helped in gaining relevant learning experiences.
It is my endeavor to impart emotional intelligence to children so that they may become strong, confident and empathetic citizens. As of now, it is work in progress.
