Born and raised in St. Croix USVI Bush Tea moved to New York City to study peace and justice studies and acting. During her stay she fell heavily into the music scene rapping and songwriting for Juilliard Chamber Orchestra ShoutHouse, jazz band QNA and female empowerment group Girl Be Heard. After being mentored by Ruff Ryders' Arti G (better known as Glenn) Bush Tea is working on a solo career that encompasses heavy 808s with high steel pans and a slightly baritone vocal for a fresh dancehall sound on her new EP Lilac. The single "Bad Gyal" will be released this summer 2016.
