Jaime Wright

Jaime Wright

Born in the wild jungle of Washington Heights, Manhattan, Jaime Wright was quickly bundled up and brought north to be raised in a small circus town called Somers, New York. It was in Somers that an immense lack of things to do led her to develop a peculiar imagination, love for absurdity, and knack for writing confessionals. After living for 18 years in suburban squalor, Jaime Wright was upgraded and returned to her roots in Manhattan to study at New York University. Wanting to be an actor, Jaime signed up for a "Drama" degree, but was placed in Playwrights Horizons Theater School where she learned that she was not an actor, but in fact, a writer, director, designer, vague performance artist, and lovable crazy person. She formed the machine sketch comedy troupe- a premiere experimental comedy group, and developed their first show "i HATE the naughties!!!" which played to rave reviews in NYC, and Philadelphia. Now graduated from NYU, Jaime continues her work with her sketch comedy troupe while continuing to write. She has experience in playwriting, sketch writing, improv, marketing, and a bit of blogging. She hopes to develop her skills in television and feature film writing, and is totally ready to make a web series. In her spare time, Jaime bakes cupcakes, sings, and designs posters and costumes.
