Jake Gill

I have been a Public Defender for more than 7 years. My job as Public defender is to represent clients in all court appearances leading to trial. I handle matters such as pretrial discovery, withdraw pleas, and suppression motions. I attend pretrial conferences with judges and prosecutors to find common ground and negotiate deals. I participate in jury selections, make opening statements, examine witnesses, present evidence to judges and juries, and make closing arguments at the conclusion of trials. Public defender also conduct legal research to prepare for court appearances.
