Jake Old

I started playing guitar and writing poetry in the same year, at just 10 years old--thanks in large part to McFadden School of Excellence.

As I got older, my passion for these two things grew and I chased two dreams: to be an accomplished professional musician and to make a living as a writer.

As part of a summer internship in 2012 I owned the book beat for The Tennessean, as well as some general-assignment reporting. Upon completing the internship, I received by B.S. in Mass Communications from MTSU.

I was a co-founder of FangFaction.com, a blog dedicated to Nashville Predators hockey. I have also launched several other blogs and websites.

Over the past decade I have been the lead guitar player for several different bands, including my time as the front man for Irish Wrist Watch.

Currently I am freelancing for several websites and I just recently accepted a non-writing job with The Tennessean, helping out with game-day coverage of high school football.

Writing, singing, designing, playing. I let my creativity guide me to happiness.
