An expert on Mongolia's tourism and an avid environmentalist, Jalsa Urubshurow founded Nomadic Expeditions, Inc., in 1992. Before starting the company in 1990, he co-founded and began his tenure as Chairman of the North America - Mongolia Business Council. As the leader of this group, Jalsa Urubshurow promoted Mongolia’s free market interests and North American trade relations while securing means of protecting the country’s vast landscapes and ecosystems.
Jalsa Urubshurow created Nomadic Expeditions after Mongolia’s prime minister personally recruited him to facilitate Western tourism and travel in the country during the early 1990s. Nomadic Expeditions employs a staff of over 50 workers, including drivers, guides, and office staff, to provide culturally enriching and educational travel for a range of clientele such as researchers from the world's leading museums and universities and adventurous souls from around the world. Since the company’s inception, he has aided in the expansion of travel opportunities from Mongolia to other off-the-beaten path destinations like Tibet, Bhutan, and Siberia.
Concerned with ecological preservation, Jalsa Urubshurow also serves as President and CEO of Three Camel Lodge, an award-winning camp of gers, or traditional Mongolian dwellings. Equipped with luxuries and a wide range of amenities, this eco-lodge was built in 2002 in accordance with culturally and environmentally sustainable guidelines. Under the direction of Jalsa Urubshurow, Nomadic Expeditions’ Three Camel Lodge serves as a beacon of conservation and environmentally-conscious living in the Gobi Desert.
A leader of business with a wide range of expertise, Jalsa Urubshurow also serves as Chief Executive Officer of All•tech Carpentry Contractors LLC, a contracting company that he founded in 1989. By formulating strategic alliances with organizations and independent subcontractors, All•tech Carpentry Contractors has become a leading framing and material supply contractor in the Atlantic Tri-state area. Supporting charitable endeavors, Jalsa Urubshurow has committed the company to a number of charitable causes, including Habitat for Humanity International and Christmas in April. The company also participated in 2 episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
