Educator in Minneapolis, Minnesota
I was born in Kocher, Ethiopia. I currently live in Minneapolis, MN and attend the University of Minnesota. I am a religious studies major focusing on Islam and an African-American and Africa studies minor. In the future, my goal is to become a doctor. Becoming a doctor has been my life long goal since I first came to the United States, in 1999, and hopefully, I can become a great doctor, one that my family can be proud of.
Regarding my interests and hobbies, I love technology and being up-to-date with the latest and greatest. I usually am on sites such as Engadget, The Verge, Android and Me, Cnet, Techcrunch, etc.
I also read a lot of manga and watch anime. Manga and anime are an escape for me because I can travel to a different world and for a short time be able to zone out of reality and let my imagination take the driver's seat and explore uncharted territory.
I enjoy watching many TV shows and though I rarely watch TV, I stay on top of it through the internet, especially with the use of Hulu. I am a big fan of House and now that the series is over, I don't know what to do with myself. It has been a long journey watching the show and being captivated by Dr. House and all the medical diagnosis and character development that has occurred since 2004. Aside from House, I love to watch Burn Notice, Castle, White Collar, and Bones.
Speaking of sports, I love to play basketball and Ultimate. I've been playing basketball since 1999 and it is one of my true loves and will always be. Being tall also helps when playing basketball and being 6'5' or so, it comes in handy. The same goes for Ultimate. I started learning my freshman year of college and have been playing since.
