San Diego, CA
Originally from Louisiana, Jenny moved to San Diego in 2009 to pursue her MBA at San Diego State University. While reading Paul Polak's Out of Poverty in an International Entrepreneurship course, she learned about the need for eye care in the world. 1 billion people do not have access to eye care and 80% of the world's blindness is preventable. These statistics were a call to action. The concept for SOLO Eyewear was born.
In 2011, Jenny borrowed $1100 from her younger brother to launch the company. To date, SOLO Eyewear has funded eye care for 6,540+ people in need across 19 countries. In addition to leading the company, Jenny spends time speaking at various universities, mentoring students and sharing her story in hopes of inspiring others to go out and do amazing things.... the very essence of SOLO.
