Jamarr T. Brown

Raised in Charleston, SC, Jamarr Brown is an accomplished political strategist, organizer, and trainer. He serves as State Field Director for Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, Planned Parenthood's statewide advocacy arm that engages grassroots supporters to fight to protect and expand access to reproductive health care.
Jamarr's political and leadership experience began when he was a student at Clemson University. He was an active member of several campus organizations; but more noticeably, he helped establish the campus' College Democrats chapter. He rose through the political ranks, serving as Third Vice Chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party, National Vice President of the College Democrats of America, Democratic National Committee Member and worked on many campaigns on the state and national levels. Winning his election at 21, Jamarr was the youngest member of the State Party’s 104-member executive committee.
Prior to joining PPTV, Jamarr worked as Field Director on a State Delegate campaign in Maryland, where he developed and directed the voter contact efforts that led to a first place finish in a 5-way Democratic primary. Before working on local campaigns in Maryland, he managed the Farm Team program, a local and state candidate recruitment program, at Progressive Majority.
Additionally, Jamarr conducts leadership trainings across the country, training leaders on campaign management, candidacy, strategic planning, fundraising, and field engagement. He recently completed his term as Trainings Director for the Young Democrats of America (YDA), training hundreds of young progressives to run local and state campaigns.
Jamarr serves on the boards of New Leaders Council - Austin Chapter, Black Austin Democrats, and the US Senate Youth Program Alumni Association. He resides in Austin, TX and earned a B.A. in Political Science from Clemson University.
