Dr. Jameelah “Just Jay” Wilkerson is a powerhouse in media, marketing, and entrepreneurship, best known as the Founder and Publisher of The Hype Magazine. What began in 2002 as a one-page newsletter has grown into a globally recognized publication available in major retailers across the U.S. and Germany. Under her leadership, the magazine has won multiple “Magazine of the Year” awards and built a loyal audience spanning music, culture, fashion, and business.

A native of Muncie, Indiana, Dr. Wilkerson is a certified business coach, web and graphic designer, and serial entrepreneur with over two decades of experience. She’s the founder of Raynbow Affair Magazine, an LGBTQ+ lifestyle publication, and holds key partnerships with Maverick Global Distribution, Infanity, and The Blog Network.

Dr. Wilkerson’s journey is marked by purpose and power. She holds an honorary Doctorate from Logos University International and received the prestigious President’s Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden. She’s also been honored with Proclamations from the cities of New York and Atlanta, and received the Hip Hop Legends Award at the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, alongside icons like Kurtis Blow and Kid Capri.
