I'm a Techno-optimist. Use your turn signals, don't be a jerk, pick up litter, take shopping carts back to the store, etc. When it comes to my personal life, I tend focus on solutions to problems that I don't even have. While there's no immediate gratification involved, someone else might need the solutions I come up with, not to mention the experience that i'm building will surely come in handy.
