James Dixon (Mountain Brook)

A resident of Mountain Brook, Alabama, James Dixon studied finance at the University of Alabama before embarking on a career with Sterne Agee & Leach Inc., where in 21 years he rose from assistant over-the-counter equity trader to division president of a private client group. While managing investments for the company's private client group, James Dixon went back to the University of Alabama to earn his MBA. He was named division president in 2008, a position he held until 2015 when his firm was acquired and he was retained to be managing director for the southeast region of Stifel Nicolaus & Company.
A past president of the Alabama Security Dealers Association, Mr. Dixon is a member of numerous professional organizations and holds several Financial Industry Regulatory Authority licenses, including general securities supervisor and life and health insurance. He has also received continuing education credits from institutions such as Florida State University and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Dixon now resides in Birmingham with his family. He is a member of the Birmingham Rotary Club, the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, and is an avid supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. He is also an elder of the Independent Presbyterian Church.
