James Gifford

I am Professor of Humanities and Director of the University Core at Fairleigh Dickinson University – Vancouver Campus. I previously oversaw the University Core for FDU's Wroxton College in Britain and Chengdu Study Abroad Center in China. In Fall 2017, I was Visiting Professor at l'Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès. In 2011–2012, I was Visiting Professor of English in the graduate program at Simon Fraser University, and again in 2025 in the Graduate Liberal Studies program. For 2006–2008, I was an Assistant Professor (limited term) and SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of English at the University of Victoria. I pursue significant studies in Music and performance as well.
In July 2017, I became Director of FDU Press, and its editorial offices relocated to FDU's Vancouver campus.
