Chen-hao Ku serves as the Director for the Legal Research & Resource Development Center in the Science & Technology Law Institute at the Institute for Information Industry, where he is responsible for research and legal compliance projects in the areas of the personal information protection and management. He is the principle investigator of the internal personal data protection management and implementation projects of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He also assists enterprises and non-government agencies to comply with the Personal Information Protection Act and various safeguarding and implementation measures. He also led other projects that where sponsored by the Government in legal and regulatory issues related to the application and development of emerging technology, such as the cloud computing, data security, and open data, etc.

Prior to this current position, he served as a project manager in the STLI , focusing on the legal issues of personal information protection, the applications of emerging technology and the legal studies on telecommunication and broadcasting. He also served as an in-house IP Manager at STLI, with his major task to assist the establishment of the intellectual property management system of the III and successfully sold the III's patents at the first patent auction. In February 2005, he was assigned to the Preparatory Office for the National Communications Commission to assist drafting of “The National Communications Commission Organization Act.” Besides, he was responsible for the regulatory frameworks of information & communications, as well as the project director of the Technology Development Program sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C.
