James Lacchiana
Throughout his studies James has developed and built his focus towards User Centered Design and Assistive Design. His explorations through varied studios demonstrates ‘disruptive’ desig through digital and modern fabrication technologies with the goal to develop and enhance the relationship between the user and the product through interaction.
James has established and built up the philosophy that design is not just about stylising the surfaces and skin of an object, but design is about designing the entire object as a package, from the inside and out. James argues that form should not follow function but collaborate and intertwine together in order to grow and achieve a truly great design. “I myself and other Industrial designers are the link between artists and engineers; we are the ones who have the skills to change the world ad push forward.” (James Lacchiana)
James sees himself as a problem solver, inventor and creative. He believes that a user’s appreciation for a product lies solely within the design and within the designers strength and desire to push the boundaries in order to enhance the experience and relationship for the user.
