James Mara

I enrolled at the University of Massachusetts on the BBA track in the Isenberg and eventually declared as a finance major. I have always been interested in the idea of traveling and this became a life goal of mine when I had the opportunity to go to Italy over winter break for a class through Isenberg. We learned about the business practices of different cultures and it really opened my eyes. I realized that there are so many different ways of going about business around the world and that not one specific way is the way it should be.

I am currently planning on spending the Fall 2015 semester studying abroad in London and traveling around Europe on the weekends. This will further broaden my view of business culture and give me an advantage regarding global diversity among my peers.

These experiences make me that much more intrigued in traveling and I would love to be able to combine this passion with a career in finance.
