James Tiu

James Tiu is a criminal defense lawyer who has gained valuable trial experience over the past twenty years. As a public defender, he pursues justice and due process for all of his clients. He believes in the fair treatment for all and, accordingly, treats all of his clients with the same respect and attention to detail.

James is also an entrepreneur. While he is currently focusing on a transition to patent law, he has previously owned and operated his own businesses, most recently opening the Honest to Goodness Salsa Cafe.

As a father and husband, James recognizes the need to contribute to a strong community. In addition to serving as a city councilman, he is also a youth mentor, volunteering his time to train youths in boxing so that they are instilled with the values of hard work, confidence, and respect. He also trains boxers of all age ranges for fitness and conditioning.
