James Catapano
James Catapano (December 1, 1982 -), also known as LordPhat, is an up and coming American Producer, Songwriter, and Recording Engineer rising out of the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, NY. He started producing music when he was a senior in High School, using various computer programs to find his own original signature sound. Every dime he made was invested into funding new equipment, such as: microphones, pre-amps, compressors, computers and the latest music-making software.
Brooklyn, NY based producer James "LordPhat" Catapano is an up and coming music producer, mixing/mastering engineer and songwriter with a serious hustle and grind to match his positive attitude and talent. LordPhat is a graduate from New York's Institute of Audio Research (IAR), a school for audio and music production that has educated the likes of Apex Productionz and Buda Da Future as well as other household names in the music industry.
As well as mixing songs for artists and producers such as Skyzoo, !llmind and Fred The Godson. Adding to his resume, LordPhat was also featured in the July 2011 issue of XXL Magazine in a review for Jr Da Future's album Dark Liquor On A Sunny Day, a project which LordPhat produced on and received positive feedback for as well.
In terms of his new projects, LordPhat most recently released an instrumental album with New Jersey based producer C.G. (of C.G. Productionz) titled Mixing Chemicals and has been showcased in venues such as Webster Hall via iStandard Producers' Showcase. LordPhat is currently working on an upcoming EP with Bronx MC Elus and has many more positive ideas and projects to put into effect.
