James is a project design at WER Architects in Little Rock, as well as being a founding member of studioMAIN. He is a board member of the Architecture + Design Network, the Regional Associate Director for the Gulf States region of the American Institute of Architects, and serves on the National Associates Committee of the AIA.

James attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and earned his B.Arch in 2006, when he was awarded a prestigious travelling fellowship from the Skidmore Ownings and Merrill Foundation as part of their annual portfolio competition. On his fellowship, James travelled throughout Europe studying public spaces and city fabrics.

James returned to Little Rock in 2007 and has been using his hardwork, dedication, and a passion for architecure and placemaking, to impact both his city and his profession.

James believes that every project must consider its role in the wider debate of our built environment.
