James Basinas

James Basinas has led a distinguished career in law enforcement highlighted by on-the-job accomplishments that have benefited the communities that he has served. During his tenure as Chief of Police for the town of Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, James Basinas' proudest moment came when he led a team of police officers in the investigation and eventual prosecution of a man who had been abusing his wife for over 40 years. The story immediately gained national attention as James Basinas' investigation discovered a woman beaten so badly that her husband was charged with attempted murder and is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence. James Basinas' efforts in bringing the abusive husband to justice liberated a woman from a life of oppression and allowed her to finally live a happy life. Over the years, many notable prosecutions have been attributed to James Basinas' hard work serving his community in law enforcement. One such occasion occurred as James Basinas located a young couple from Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, committing fraud by selling products to consumers on eBay without ever following through with delivery. By putting a stop to this operation, James Basinas sent the message that law enforcement is watching e-commerce, and fraudulent activities will not go unnoticed. Additionally, James Basinas has displayed his commitment to law enforcement even in moments of great danger. Faced with the difficult task of apprehending a man firing his rifle at police officers, James Basinas waited patiently for the man to let his guard down and successfully tackled and disarmed the assailant. James Basinas is a graduate of the 91st New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council and the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council. Moreover, James Basinas is currently studying for a degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Commendations for James Basinas include Officer of the Year by the Pelham Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for his involvement in the Pelham Police Department's solving of 20 burglaries.
