James Cihla
With an extensive background in the information technology industry, James Cihla possesses 20 years of experience in the development of computer hardware and software systems for both businesses and consumers. Since 2007, Jim Cihla has served as Director of Engineering at Arira Design, Inc., in Sunnyvale, California. In that role, James Cihla has been the driving force behind many complex engineering projects, including some that have generated tens of millions in revenue for client companies.
Prior to joining Arira, James Cihla applied his talents at NeoScale Systems, Inc., in Milpitas, where he served as Director of Engineering from 2005 to 2007. At NeoScale, he led the development of encryption and key management products distributed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
From 2000 to 2005, James Cihla held leadership roles at a number of technology companies based in California. He has served as Senior Manager of Hardware Development at AccessLan Communications, Inc., Director of Systems Engineering at Candera, Inc., and Manager of Systems Hardware at NVIDIA Corporation. Earlier in his career, he held the posts of Manager of Hardware Development and Senior Hardware Engineer at Auspex Systems, Inc., in Santa Clara.
Jim Cihla graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in computer science. He has also completed graduate-level courses in computer science through Stanford University’s distance learning program, the Stanford Instructional Television Network, which is offered through the Stanford Center for Professional Development.
