James Young
Hi.
I'm eight years old, I live in Devon, I live near Buckland Abbey, where Sir Francis Drake used to live, he sailed around the world in his ship, The Golden Hinde, and was like a good pirate, because he boarded spanish ships all over the world (once they captured a spanish ship carrying so much gold and silver that it took about 5 days to take it all on their ship, they even had to throw out the stones that held up the sails and replace it with gold and silver and other stuff that is valuable!).
As you can see I'm rather good at history as well, I'm also good at maths, or as some people call it, mathematics or numeracy. In my school everyone learns spanish but I would like to learn Latin, the language that the Romans used.
Although I live in Devon, I wasn't born there, I was born in Leicester, hen moved to Cambridge, then moved to near Plymouth in Devon.
The house that I live in is a Victorian farmhouse, built in 1857, it has two staircases (not to get mixed up with two floors being one staircase because two floors is two staircases), it has a brilliant view of Dartmoor, a range of hills about as big as all of London itself, you can see the telegraph pole, the roads, and the hills, also when there are low clouds then you might not see the telegraph pole, once I even saw the tops of the clouds, that was nice because the tops of the clouds were light and you could see blue sky, it was lovely, we moved in in March 2015 and we are going to live here for as long as possible from now on.
I have a few hobbies too, playing with our kittens, whittling sticks, and a few others too.
