In addition to graduating summa cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Public and International Affairs with a master of public administration (MPA), James Dervin holds a JD (cum laude) from the University of Georgia School of Law. James Dervin is admitted to practice law in both New York and Georgia.
He has extensive experience in governmental affairs and the legal issues municipalities face. As an associate attorney with Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP in Atlanta, he served as corporate counsel for the Cities of Demorest and East Point. In New York, James Dervin represented the City of New York in litigation in both state and federal court. He also represented the City before the New York State Division of Human Rights and the State Commissioner of Education.
