James P. Dillon of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts surrendered his law license on Sept 1 after the Massachusetts State Bar began an investigation into the misconduct, which involved a client James Dillon had been appointed by the court to represent.

Dillon did not immediately return a phone call to his law office.

The details of what led to Dillon's disbarment weren't released, but in anaffidavit signed by Dillon on June 24, he acknowledged that "the material factsupon which the investigation is predicated are true" and admitted that he "could not successfully defend against them."

This isn't the first time James Dillon has been disciplined by the state bar.

In 1994, his law license was suspended for three years following an investigation into mishandling of funds and accounts held by his law firm.

Then in 2010, Dillon was reprimanded by the state bar for professional misconduct for failing to timely respond to a grievance filed with the state bar against him by a client.
