We spent nearly three long weeks in the Fall of 2014 working our butts off getting our Yosemite home in shape for a party that was scheduled to rent our home (see friendslodgeinyosemite.com ) just after we left. The renovations (Del Alsup, Apex Construction in Oakhurst, CA) were way better than I had imagined they would be- I'd say we're finally done with major renovations; the next time we come maybe we can enjoy our home to the max!
It was still great to be in Wawona. For the first time I didn't feel like I had to immediately announce our re-entry into town; we could have a fire at night, watch TV (dish) or just relax from the long journey from morning through the day.
I've never been able to put my finger on what's so special about Wawona- but I'm not the only one who experiences it. My theory is that because there's such natural beauty there, it feeds the souls of everyone in town who then can relate to each other from a position of deep peace. If that makes sense.
Anyway, we decorated a lot. There were a lot of trips to Fresno and beyond. Finally we were done. What a great feeling!
