James Hooper is a multidisciplinary designer, developer, and creative strategist with two decades of experience across brand and publication design, advertising, web and digital, video, and strategic communications. He is the founder of Minus Plus Multiply.
James specialises in translating complex ideas and technical subjects into creative solutions audiences instantly understand.
Prior to Minus Plus Multiply, James was Head of Creative at The Civic Partnership, a Melbourne-based government relations, public affairs, and advertising agency. He led creative direction and hands-on production across campaigns, publications, video, and digital platforms for Australian, state, and local governments, national health organisations, and peak industry groups.
James spent eight years as a Subject Coordinator and Lecturer at Bond University, teaching design, digital media, user experience, and communications. He was recognised with multiple Teaching Excellence Awards.
He holds a Master of Philosophy (thesis: ‘Freeplay in Videogames’), a Bachelor of Multimedia Design (Advertising), and a Bachelor of Information Technology (Web Engineering).
