Our 4-month investigation of Wellpoint (Murray Waas, Lewis Krauskopf and Jim Impoco), showed the health insurer targeted breast cancer patients to cancel their policies, was a winner in the SABEW’s Investigative category. This was great journalism-- especially by Waas, resulted in an agenda-setting story. Murray Waas is picking up the prestigious Barlett & Steele award today for his special report on health insurers dropping patients after they were diagnosed with breast cancer.
