James Petrin, MD

A diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) and a fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), James Petrin, M.D., currently practices as a dermatologist in the region surrounding Seattle, Washington. As owner of Sound Dermatology and Skin Surgery, PLLC, Dr. Petrin attends to patients at a new clinic in Redmond, Washington, as well as at Woodinville Dermatology Center, conveniently located in a suburb of Seattle. Concurrent with his work with Sound Dermatology and Skin Surgery, PLLC, Dr. Petrin maintains a position on the clinical faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine; he has served in this capacity since 1999. As a supplement to the considerable time he spends with patients at his clinics, James Petrin, M.D., also dedicates considerable energy to participation in several industry-leading organizations. A member of the Washington State Dermatology Association (WSDA), Dr. Petrin spent six years (2000 to 2006) as the organization’s Secretary Treasurer. In addition to his premier standing with the ABD and ASDS, Dr. Petrin holds membership in the American Society for Mohs Surgery (ASMS). James Petrin, M.D., holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington (UW) and an MD from the UW School of Medicine. He also served his residency with UW Medicine and earned the Division of Dermatology’s William Baker Meritorious Service Award for his outstanding work. During his years as a Resident at the University of Washington, Dr. Petrin published articles in Pediatric Dermatology, the Journal of Musculoskeletal Pain, and the Journal of Geriatric Dermatology. James Petrin, M.D., currently resides in Redmond, Washington.
