I first joined st john ambulance back in 2011, this was because i had always had the enthusiasm to do something good for the community, i have also loved helping other people and making lives for others better!, joining SJA meant that i could gain skills that could mean the difference between a life lost and a life saved. i have been to many events with SJA meaning that i have provided top quality care to members of the public when the help was needed. these events are, Premier League Football Matches,Marathons,Triathlons,Summer Fetes,Concerts over Hyde Park & Many More not forgetting the marching we do in November for Remembrance Sunday. to become a Cadet First Aider you have to go through a process of being re validated and examined, this is to show the examiner what skills you have and if you are able to cope well when out in the publics eye and get faced with something that needs treating! aswell as being a Cadet first aider, late last year i went to a Cadet of the year competition where i was competing against other cadets for district COTY and also Lords Mayor i was luckily enough to take the role of being COTY for East London and later on going to a youth awards receiving my Rope and Certificate!, i have a good background for volunteering with other organisations but SJA has always been the one for me!!!
