A Birmingham, Alabama-based finance executive with more than 45 years of investment advisory experience, James S. Holbrook, Jr. most recently served as chairman and CEO at an investment bank. He launched the firm in 1990. Over the course of nearly 25 years, he oversaw the company's expansion to include offices in 43 states and London, United Kingdom. James S. Holbrook, Jr. previously served 20 years as CEO at First Birmingham Securities Corp.
Prior to working in an executive capacity, James S. Holbrook, Jr. spent one year as a registered representative at First Alabama Securities, where he provided investment advice to individual clients. He began his career as a municipal banker at R W Knight and Co. in 1965.
Mr. Holbrook, Jr. holds a bachelor's degree in finance and banking from the University of Alabama and is a Presidents Cabinet member. He's also a former member of the board of governors for the National Association of Securities Dealers and an elected member of the Alabama Business Hall of Fame.
